Our Materials, Testing and Safety

If you want to know exactly what goes into a toy, you deserve facts rather than comfort. Below you will find what our toys are made from, how that material has been independently tested, and the UK rules that apply. Where we do not hold something, I say so plainly.

What our toys are made from

Our silicone toys are made from 100% platinum-cure silicone. It is body-safe non-porous, phthalate-free and latex-free. With no pores in the surface, there is nowhere for bacteria to hide, which keeps cleaning quick and easy.

Softness you can see

Silicone toy firmness is rated on the Shore scale, where a lower number means a softer toy. Wyrm's Own originals are poured at Shore 00-40, which feels plush and gives easily. Our core range is Shore A10: still flexible, with a touch more firmness.

Core range Medium-soft · Shore A10

You will find each toy's exact measurements and its firmness, on a five-step scale, on its product page.

Independent testing

Our silicone has been tested by SGS, an independent testing company, with these results:

Test What it checks Result
REACH SVHC screening Substances of Very High Concern on the REACH Candidate List No Candidate List SVHCs found above 0.1% w/w.
FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 US rules for rubber articles used in repeated contact with food Pass.
California Proposition 65 The substances included in the relevant test panel No panel substance found above its reporting limit.

We also keep a Safety Data Sheet for both of the silicone components.

A test result only applies to the material that was tested. Paperwork for one range, material or formulation does not carry over to another, and as we add new ranges or materials we will keep separate documentation for each. If you are interested in a particular piece, ask and I will tell you exactly which results cover it.

We do not publish the full reports, but I am always happy to confirm any individual result in writing.

About certification

Our toys are everyday consumer products, not medical devices or items made for contact with food. There is no UK law requiring them to carry UKCA marking or be certified by an approved body, and there is no certification scheme for adult products at all. They are covered by general product safety law instead, which is explained below.

Keep this in mind when you see claims on other sites. A material that passes a test standard has met that standard as a raw material. That is not the same as a finished toy being certified, and we will always be clear about the difference.

We do not currently hold a dedicated extractables and leachables study. That is not part of the documentation we have for this range.

UK product safety rules

In Great Britain, consumer products fall under the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. These require businesses to sell only safe products, give customers the information they need to use them safely, show the required warnings and identifiers, and act promptly if a safety problem is found.

AJC Marketing Ltd, company number 11585881

These details, along with safety warnings and product identifiers, appear on every product page and in every parcel.

Safe use

  • Use a water-based lubricant only. Silicone-based lubricants damage the surface over time.
  • Wash with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap before and after each use, then dry completely.
  • Check the toy every time you use it. If you find a tear, split or any surface damage, stop using it.
  • Always keep hold of the flared base. Never insert a toy fully.
  • Stop using it if you notice any irritation.
  • For adults only. Keep out of reach of children.
  • None of our products protect against pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections.

Our toy care guide goes into cleaning, storage and lubricants in much more detail.

Asking for documentation

If you need something specific, such as a test result or details of the material in a particular toy, email orders@dragondildo.co.uk. Tell us which product and why you need the information, and we will reply in writing.
